About Us

The Harvard Community Garden is a brainchild of the Harvard Environmental Action Committee. In the spring of 2009, a subgroup of this undergraduate organization collaborated with University Administration, the Center for Health and the Global Environment, Harvard University Dining Services, the Food Literacy Project, and the Office of Sustainability to select the space and get growing. Since then, the undergraduate-staffed Garden has built the raised beds and greenhouses and grown hundreds of pounds of produce. We continue to work year-round toward our main goal of engaging the community in the issues of urban farming and sustainable living practices.
